Continuing Education
What is Continuing Education?
The State of Michigan requires Licensed Massage Therapists to complete 18 hours of Continuing Education (CEU) every 3 years for license renewal. Requirements for renewal include:
– 1 Hour of Pain/Symptom Management
– 2 Hours of Professional Ethics and Boundaries
– 1 Hour PER Year of renewal of Implicit Bias Training
– Training in Human Trafficking

Body Scrub/Polish Massage Techniques – Application of carious exfoliation mediums in combination with massage to promote lymph (toxin) removal and rejuvenation of the epidermis. Students will have an opportunity to experience and practice an invigorating massage using sea salt and sugar scrubs.

Learn the psychological effects of touch as well as identify & understand the phenomena of emotional release during massage and bodywork. Includes ethical/personal dilemma dicussion. Discover ways for choosing methods & techniques that are both physically & psychologically sutied for each client, as we as examine factors that may indicate a referral is necessary.
